The 5 Offerings

The 5 Offerings is the offering of 5 objects that we present in front of the Buddha statue as a form of respect and gratitude

The meaning behind each objects will be discussed below

Light

Light symbolises wisdom. It also symbolises the ability to see through the Dhamma and nature of the body and mind.

Burning Incense

Incense

Like the good smelling incense, when one keeps a good moral conduct, his/her reputation will spread far, just like incense that can be carried away far by the wind.

Water

Symbolises purity and calmness. When we practice Buddhism, we train ourselves to purify our mind to achieve Enlightenment

Represents the fruits of Kamma, the ultimate fruit and goal that we should attain is the Enlightenment
